Offer DescriptionRECTOR OF THE SILESIAN UNIVERSITY OF TECHNOLOGY announces the competition for the position of assistant professor in the group of research and teaching employees in the Department of Materials Technology at the Faculty of Materials Engineering at the Silesian University of Technology in Gliwice, 2A Akademicka St.Job description:
1) the competition for the position of assistant professor is open to persons who meet the requirements specified in the Act of 20 July 2018 – Law on Higher Education and Science (Journal of Laws of 2023, item 742, as amended) and the Statute of the Silesian University of Technology of 3 June, 2019 (Legal Monitor of SUT of 2020, item 339 as amended),
2) estimated work commencement date: 01.03.2025,
3) workplace and type of contract: Department of Materials Technology at the Faculty of Materials Engineering, full-time employment contract,
4) period of employment: from 01.03.2025 to 28.02.2026 (with the possibility of extension).Requirements:
1) at least a doctoral degree in the field of engineering and technical sciences,
2) substantive participation in a research project financed from funds other than subsidy,
3) publication achievements in international scientific journals, as well as documented achievements in the promotion and popularization of science,
4) a total of at least two month scientific internship abroad or a six month internship in Poland in scientific and research, industrial or local government units,
5) fluent Polish language (applies to candidates for whom Polish is not their native language),
6) English language at a level enabling easy communication and conducting didactic classes.Additional requirements:
1) authorship or co-authorship of at least 10 publications in scientific journals included in the list of scientific journals and peer-reviewed materials from international conferences attached to the Polish Ministry of Science and Higher Education announcement,
2) participation in research or service works, commitment to submit an application for funding of a research project, e.g. to the NCN (Polish National Science Centre), NCBiR (Polish National Centre of Science and Development) within 12 months from the date of employment,
3) experience in conducting didactic classes in the field of engineering and technical sciences; readiness and commitment to conduct didactic classes in the field of Industry 4.0, automation, robotization and digitization of production processes, programming, databases.Required documents:
1) an application for employment with a short justification,
2) scans of diplomas,
3) documents confirming completed scientific internships,
4) a declaration of active skills in English language,
5) a declaration of skills in Polish language (for candidates for whom Polish is not their native language),
6) a professional CV,
7) information on scientific, didactic and organizational achievements,
8) an individual development plan with a schedule for its implementation during the period of employment,
9) a declaration from the candidate that the Silesian University of Technology will be the primary place of work.The University offers:

3) developing interpersonal skills.
