Offer DescriptionRECTOR OF THE SILESIAN UNIVERSITY OF TECHNOLOGY announces the competition for the position of assistant professor in the group of research and teaching employees in the Department of Applied Linguistics at the Faculty of Organization and Management at the Silesian University of Technology in Gliwice, 2A Akademicka St.Job description:1) the competition for the position of Assistant Professor is open to persons who meet the requirements specified in the Act of 20 July 2018 – Law on Higher Education and Science (Journal of Laws of 2023, item 742, as amended) and the Statute of the Silesian University of Technology of 3 June, 2019 (Legal Monitor of SUT of 2020, item 339 as amended),2) estimated work commencement date: 01.10.2024,3) workplace and type of contract: Department of Applied Linguistics at the Faculty of Organization and Management, full-time employment contract,4) period of employment: from 01.10.2024 to 30.09.2025 (with possibility of extension).Requirements:1) at least a doctorate degree in the discipline of English linguistics,2) publications in both domestic and international scientific journals,3) substantive participation in a research project financed other than by a subvention,4) documented achievements in the field of the promotion and popularization of science,5) at least a two-month foreign internship or six-month domestic internship in scientific-research, industrial or local government units.Additional requirements:1) experience of teaching in English,2) professional experience in the wider business or industry will be an additional advantage.Required documents:1) application for employment/letter of motivation,2) professional curriculum vitae and information on academic, teaching and organisational achievements, specifying plans for further teaching development,3) scans of diplomas,4) the candidate’s statement that the Silesian University of Technology will be his/her main place of work.The University offers:1) work in a reputable scientific unit,2) training in modern forms of education,3) opportunities for scientific development,4) opportunities to participate in scientific programmes and projects.Prospects for professional development:1) collaboration with research and teaching staff,2) developing interpersonal skills in the academic environment of a technical university.The application must be submitted:
