The at the invites applications for an Assistant Professor to strengthen the section in the field of Technology Entrepreneurship and Creativity. The research focus shall incorporate a particular consideration of aspects of digital change and sustainability. The targeted starting date of the position is January 2025.The application deadline is 30 September 2024 at 11.59 PM/23.59 (CET/CEST)The position is in the Section at the Faculty of Engineering on the international campus Sønderborg. The section unites engineering, innovation and entrepreneurship scholars in joint research and teaching. The focus is on industrial engineering and how to generate innovative products and entrepreneurial opportunities as well as the production of the future. Among others, research projects currently run by the group cover a range of cutting-edge topics within technology entrepreneurship, innovation management, smart factory – industry 4.0, digitalization, and sustainability.SDU TEI is embedded in a region with a strong network of companies, including some of Denmark’s largest global industrial players (i.e., Danfoss, Linak, Siemens) and many manufacturing SMEs. Projects currently run by the group cover a range of cutting-edge topics, such as innovation, entrepreneurship and technology including climate action, smart factories, automation, and supply chain digitalization. The group publishes in leading international journals on these topics, such as Small Business Economics, Business Strategy and the Environment, Journal of Small Business Management, Journal of Manufacturing Systems, International Journal of Production Economics, Journal of Technology Transfer, etc.The SDU TEI section is a highly international and interdisciplinary group of faculty members, with international students in several engineering bachelor and master programs. The campus is in Sønderborg, an attractive maritime town with an open Scandinavian culture and affordable housing and living costs.The successful candidate has a background at the interface of entrepreneurship, innovation, and technology management. The PhD degree is preferably in entrepreneurship, innovation management, or another relevant field.The successful candidate will drive internationally competitive research, work closely with industry, and attract competitive external research funding. The candidate must have a strong theoretical background in combination with practical skills in conducting empirical research. The candidate must be a team player and at the same time able to work independently. The successful candidate is active in publishing in renowned journals. We expect a proven track record of presentations at international conferences, demonstrating expertise in technology, entrepreneurship, and creativity. Active engagement with the academic community through reviewing for several esteemed publications is required. The successful candidate has excellent communication skills in English speaking and writing.The candidate must have a relevant PhD.The ideal candidate can bridge entrepreneurship, innovation, and technology.Knowledge, skills, and competences in one or both of the following areas are required:
- Entrepreneurship related to technology and creativity.
- New tech-based ventures in the context of sustainability.
In addition, knowledge and practical experience in data analysis and software for data analysis in qualitative methods (such as NVIVO, Atlas, or similar), documented e.g., in earlier publications are required.The following is a plus:
- An excellent standing in research.
- Success in attracting research funding.
- Experience in managing significant projects and research initiatives funded by notable organizations.
- A background in teaching entrepreneurship, technology management, creativity, and innovation across multiple institutions with expertise in creative methods for entrepreneurship education (such as in design thinking).
- Experience with industrial collaboration.
- Language skills in Danish and/or German on an advanced level.
