Offer DescriptionRector of the University of Szczecin announces an opening for the position of Assistant Professor (English Studies) in the Institute of Literature and New Media, University of Szczecin (1 position)The recruitment procedure requires that applicants must comply with regulations specified in art. 113 and art. 116 of the Law of 20.07.2018 on higher education and science (Journal of Laws of 2022, item 574 with further amendments) and the Charter of University of Szczecin, and fulfil the requirements specified in the job offer.The competition is the first stage of the recruitment procedure for the position of academic teacher, and its positive result is the basis for further proceedings.Competition criteria:

  • MA degree in English Studies;
  • PhD degree in Literary Studies;
  • Documented teaching experience in higher education in Poland or abroad;
  • Documented significant research output, including a research monograph or academic publications in renowned academic journals;
  • Willingness to teach various subjects in the English Philology programme, including Practical English classes;
  • Willingness to teach during the working week as well as every second weekend (part-time programmes);
  • Specified research and publication plans;
  • Polish writing and oral skills at B1 level or higher.

Specific RequirementsThe candidate is required to submit:

  • an application addressed to the Rector of the University of Szczecin (in Polish);
  • Curriculum Vitae;
  • copies of diplomas certifying academic and professional degrees and titles; in case of documents issued in languages other than Polish, also certified translation of the document into Polish, as well as a certificate confirming that academic degrees and titles acquired abroad are equivalents of the Polish degrees and titles;
  • a list of academic publications, a description of teaching experience and other achievements regarding organisation of academic life and popularisation of science;
  • a Polish language certificate of writing and speaking skills at B1 level or higher (foreign candidates);
