Offer DescriptionWe invite applications for a postdoctoral position in experimental particle physics to be employed as an assistant professor in a group of research staff in the Department of Particle Interactions and Detection Techniques in the project 11 IDUB. You will be part of our team working on the STAR experiment at RHIC and on the future Electron-Ion Collider. The successful candidate will work on STAR data analysis and on the development of the luminosity detectors for EIC. We seek excellent candidates with a background in experimental nuclear or high-energy physics. The successful candidate will play a leading role in technical coordination and partially participate in ongoing work in this project, such as Monte Carlo simulations of the operation of the planned detectors, design and implementation of readout electronics, mechanical work, and measurements of detector prototypes on test beams at CERN/BNL. The position lasts up to 12 months and offers a highly competitive salary.
