Offer DescriptionWe invite applications for a postdoctoral position in experimental particle physics to be employed as an assistant professor in a group of research staff in the Department of Particle Interactions and Detection Techniques in the project 11 IDUB. You will be part of our team working on the future Electron-Ion Collider, and in particular of the development of the luminosity detectors. We seek excellent candidates with a background in experimental nuclear or high-energy physics. The successful candidate will play a leading role in technical coordination and partially participate in ongoing work in this project, such as Monte Carlo simulations of the operation of the planned detectors, design and implementation of readout electronics, mechanical work, and measurements of detector prototypes on test beams at CERN/BNL. The position is for up to 18 months and offers a highly competitive salary. Eligibility criteria

  • PhD at least in physical sciences,
  • demonstrating scientific and organizational achievements and active participation in conferences and symposia,
  • experience in working in large experiments in high energy physics,
  • having scientific achievements in the field of experimental particle physics,
  • participation in the STAR experiment and/or previous involvement in the Electron-Ion Collider project is not required, but will be appreciated,
  • knowledge of English at least at B-2 level.
