The requirements to be met by the candidate

• PhD in one of the following branches of science: mechanics, applied physics, applied mathematics,

computer physics obtained no earlier than 7 years;

• Do not receive any other form of remuneration from Polish National Science Centre,
• Proficiency in English, allowing you to communicate and write research documents (at least B2 level).
• Confirmed publication of scientific papers related to mathematical modeling, optimazation, operations

research and data analysis in the scope indicated in the proposal.

• Knowledge in the field of:

– location-allocation problem;
– maximum coverage location problem;
– linear and nonlinear programming;
– discrete and combinatorial optimization;
– machine learning, models and forecasting methods;
– computer geometry software on algorithmic language Python;
– analysis and generalization of research results;
– compiling research results and submitting publications to scientific journals and conference papers.2. Specification of the terms and conditions of employment

• Full-time position
• Expected employment duration up to 18 months
• Expected date of employment: October 1, 2024

Note: starting date can change in case of the need for additional employment permissions.
Authority associated with the position:

• the possibility of developing a scientific career;
• participation in national and international conferences;
• publishing scientific articles in journals with a high citation index.

• conducting research related to the subject of the project;
• documenting the results in the form of publications in renowned scientific journals.

This job offer concerns employment for PostDoc researcher position in the project funded by National
Science Centre – IMPRESS-U: „Modeling and Forecasting of Infection Spread in War and Post War
Settings Using Epidemiological, Behavioral and Genomic Surveillance Data” (project description available in
Annex no. 4).
The main research focus of will be:
– Develop and analyze epidemiological models on networks describing the spread of epidemics with a
comprehensive account of migration processes caused by military actions,as well as public health resource
distribution (in accordance with Aim 3 “Algorithms for Optimized Public Health Resource Location-Allocation”
of the joint project);
– Develop models, algorithms, and software for optimal location of mobile facilities and allocation of
