KU is the first and, so far, the only university in Poland to have set the UN Sustainable Development Goals.Kozminski University is recruiting for the following positions:ASSISTANT PROFESSOR and/or PROFESSORto the Department of Strategyled by Prof. Krzysztof ObłójDue to the growth of our department, we are looking for candidates who wish to develop academically and didactically.We are an interdisciplinary department, both on the teaching and research side. Our main subjects are related to strategy building and execution (Organisation Strategy, Corporate Strategy, International Strategies), but we also teach subjects on change management, ebusiness, leadership, startups, public relations. Within the Department, some of us specialise in teaching and organisational consulting, and others in combining teaching and research. We have many years of consultancy experience, and international teaching experience – we teach in Poland, the USA, Singapore, Ireland, China, Slovenia, France, Norway and other countries.Our research and publication profile reflects the interests and skills of the faculty members. Therefore, we study phenomena of interest qualitatively and quantitatively, and publish mainly in the areas of:– strategy and international entrepreneurship,– strategy and competitive advantage of small, medium and large firms,– CSR and people management,– start-ups and e-business– decision-making.In order to publish we run research programmes, apply for and win NCN and international grants (e.g. with China). We systematically submit papers to very good international conferences (SMS, AIB, EGOS, EIBA, EURAM), and our University offers comprehensive support for research, foreign conference trips and publications. We publish articles in good world periodicals, but also books in Polish and English. We have award-winning papers, case studies and publications to our credit.Candidate profile:We are looking for a person who has a background in the social sciences, and a teaching and research orientation at the same time. This is because we like students and value teaching. We also value research and national and international publications. We offer the freedom to choose academic orientations and a friendly working culture. And we help our new members build teaching and research competences.Tasks carried out in the position:
- teaching in Polish and English in accordance with the teaching hours allocated to the position in the academic year, including teaching the subject ‘Community project’,
- carrying out research work in the scientific area agreed with the Head of the Department,
- performing administrative tasks as determined by the Head of the Department.
Requirements for the candidate:
- having a doctoral or habilitated doctor’s degree,
- a degree in management, sociology or psychology is welcome,
- publications in reputable scientific journals in the area of research interest (ABS-listed journals and with an assigned impact factor/impact factor),
- teaching experience at undergraduate and graduate level. Experience in teaching at postgraduate/MBA level will be desirable,
- experience in cooperation with NGOs. Experience in directing/implementing cross-sectoral projects, especially at the university-NGO interface, would be welcome and teaching in this area,
- experience in writing research proposals and participating in the implementation of research projects, grants financed from national and international sources,
- welcome to conduct research projects, grants financed by national and international funds,
- specific plans for publication,
- willingness to work as part of a research team in the Department of Strategy and to publish in the area of international management, strategy and entrepreneurship,
- strong motivation to carry out scientific and research work,
- specific research area towards writing a habilitation thesis,
- experience in an administrative role in a higher education institution is welcome,
- ability to use basic Microsoft Office and MsTeams applications,
- knowledge of English at level C1, as defined by the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages, so as to be able to teach in that language,
- a command of English at level C2, as defined by the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages, is desirable to enable teaching in that language,
- proficiency in Polish in order to be able to teach in that language, at least at level C1, as defined in the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages,
- knowledge of another foreign language will be desirable,
- resistance to stress, independent thinking,
- creativity, willingness to take on scientific challenges,
- availability,
- willingness to indicate Kozminski University as the first place of employment,
- availability to teach on selected weekdays and some weekends,
- profiles on the main social media (LinkedIn, Researchgate) or willingness to set them up.

- full-time employment, annual teaching load: 210 hours (assistant professor), 180h (university professor),
