Offer DescriptionWe are looking for a candidate for a researcher for the NCN project entitled: “Research on gravitational waves in the era of LIGO-Virgo-KAGRA discoveries” No. UMO-2023/49/B/ST9/02777 carried out by prof. Ph.D. Tomasz Bulik at the Astronomical Observatory of the University of Warsaw. We offer full-time employment under an employment contract of up to 36 months, no longer than until January 2, 2028. In the event of extension of the project, employment extension is possible.The candidates have to conform to the conditions stated in art. 113 of Higher Education Law dated 20.07.2018. In particular, the person employed in this position obtained a doctoral degree in the year of employment in the project or in the period of 7 years before January 1 of the year of employment in the project. This period may be extended by the time spent on long-term (over 90 days) documented sickness benefits or rehabilitation benefits due to incapacity for work. Additionally, this period may be extended by the number of months spent on leave related to the care and upbringing of children granted on the terms set out in the Labor Code, and in the case of women – by 18 months for each born or adopted child, if this method of indicating breaks in a scientific career is more favorable. . The employment will take place in accordance with the NCN regulations, in particular the employed person must meet all of the following conditions:

• the project manager was not the supervisor or auxiliary supervisor of her doctoral dissertation;

• obtained a doctoral degree in an entity other than the entity where employment in this position is planned, or completed at least 10 months of continuous and documented postdoctoral internship in an entity other than the entity implementing the project and in a country other than the country of obtaining the doctoral degree; 

• during the period of receiving this remuneration, he will not receive any other remuneration from funds allocated as direct costs from research projects financed in NCN calls; 

• during the period of receiving this remuneration, he will not receive remuneration from another employer under an employment contract, including from an employer based outside Poland; 

• during the period of receiving this remuneration, he will not receive retirement benefits from the social security system; 

• will be employed for a period of not less than 6 months.
