Offer DescriptionThe successful candidate will join the team working on the development, analysis, and modelling of the ultrasound blood-brain barrier opening (BBBO) method. The specific research tasks planned for the assistant professor include: (i) experimental analysis of the effect of sonication parameters on the spectrum of the acoustic wave reflected or generated by ultrasound-excited microbubbles, (ii) determination of wave parameters that ensures effective disruption of the blood-brain barrier while avoiding unstable microbubble oscillations, (iii) plan and perform tests in a water system with a tissue phantom or small animal, (iv) perform numerical simulations of acoustic wave propagation through the skull of a small animal for different frequencies and powers of the ultrasonic wave.The theme is led by Prof. Jerzy Litniewski head of the Department of Ultrasound at the Institute of Fundamental Technological Research (IPPT), Polish Academy of Sciences in Warsaw, Poland.RequirementsResearch Field Engineering » Biomedical engineering Education Level PhD or equivalentResearch Field Computer science » Modelling tools Education Level PhD or equivalentResearch Field Technology » Medical technology Education Level PhD or equivalentResearch Field Physics » Applied physics Education Level PhD or equivalentSkills/Qualifications

  • documented participation in scientific conferences
  • motivation, commitment, independent thinking, experience and innovation in conducting scientific research; role as a scientific project manager will be an additional advantage
