The academy has around 850 students and 130 course participants. The organization has an international character, which makes the academy a diverse community. The entire academy has approximately 200 teachers, most of whom are also independent artists or designers or have a practice connected to the artistic field as contemplators or theorists. The academy is characterized by research-based and experimental art education, where (head) teachers, workplace specialists, students and staff together shape and give content to education and research. Diversity and inclusion, ecology and sustainability are important focal points of the academy and therefore guide the actions of members of the academy community. The Graphic Design Department
Graphic design permeates our daily lives, subtly intertwining with our experiences and facilitating human exchange and expression. Within the realm of the Graphic Design department, we delve into, assess, and experiment with various methods of communicating through visual languages. At the core of our department lies a commitment to nurturing and entrusting students with an array of tools essential for effective communication. These tools enable students to articulate ideas, embody concepts, and give tangible form to abstract notions. Key components of our curriculum include typography, image making, editing, design and media theory, and writing and thinking of language. We approach this learning process through both analog and digital forms and techniques and in a conceptual manner considering content and context.Teaching in the department happens mostly through assignments, over time leading to more independent forms of study and the possibility of applied commissions from within and outside the academy. Students are encouraged to develop a productive-critical approach to their work and learn to take responsibility for chosen points of departure when giving form to ideas. We encourage our students to explore the boundaries of graphic design. All the teachers in the department are actively practicing designers, artists, curators, or theorists, creating proximity to contemporary practice. Each year/group is assigned a mentor, usually a teacher, who guides and supports the students and teachers throughout their academic journey. These mentors collaborate closely with each other, the head of the department, and the department assistant to facilitate discussions, address concerns, and foster a supportive environment for everyone within their respective year/group. This provides a network of care and support for students and teachers. In addition to regular classes, the department organizes a variety of enriching workshops, activities, and events to complement and enhance the educational experience. What will you be doing?

Your responsibilities encompass a wide range of administrative duties, including managing declarations and various organizational tasks.
