Position: Assistant Information Technology Manager

Base Location: Parrot Cay

Department: Information Technology

Reporting to: Information Technology Manager

Tasks/Responsibilities: 

  • Monitor the operation and security of all computer hardware and ensure that it is operating properly
  • Maintain accurate inventory and record of all hardware, software and manuals purchased by the hotel
  • Ensure that all software runs with no output errors, no response time problems and functioning according to specifications
  • Assist with the preparation of a monthly report regarding the systems and issues related to smooth operation of application software
  • Assist in the creation and maintain the documentation of the telephone system configuration
  • Understand all the department working procedures and perform the related tasks as described
  • Carry out the repairs and maintenance of all PCs, printers, telephones, interactive system, key, etc.
  • Maintain all users access request and authorizations (Windows, E-mail, Opera, Micros, Cisco, Mitel)
  • Act as the primary contact for all outside agents in all computer technology related matters in the absence of IT Manager
  • Respond to all users request in a professional manner and provide them with adequate support in a professional.
  • Assist in the managing a small team of employees and help with the development of junior staff and interns
  • Must be able to communicate effectively in both oral and written form and explain technical concepts in non-technical terms to staff and prepare clear and concise written communications. BA degree in Computer Science field.
  • Must be able to carry and lift heavy boxes containing computers components, printers etc.
  • Any other duties that may be assigned by your manager from time to time.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field is typically required. A master’s degree can be advantageous.
  • Relevant certifications such as ITIL, PMP, CompTIA Network+, CompTIA Security+, Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator, or Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) are highly valued.
  • Proficiency in managing and maintaining IT systems, including servers, networks, and databases.
  • Knowledge of network protocols, network infrastructure, and troubleshooting network issues.
  • Understanding of cybersecurity principles, practices, and tools for protecting data and systems.
  • Familiarity with various software applications, operating systems (Windows, Linux, macOS), and hardware components.
  • Ability to provide technical support and resolve IT-related issues for end-users.
  • Experience in planning, executing, and overseeing IT projects, including budget management and resource allocation.
  • Ability to lead and motivate a team of IT professionals, providing guidance and support.
  • Experience in negotiating and managing relationships with vendors and service providers.
  • Several years of experience in IT roles, with some experience in a supervisory or managerial capacity.
  • Ability to adapt to new technologies and rapidly changing IT environments.
  • Commitment to continuous professional development and staying updated with the latest industry trends and technologies.
