You will be responsible for ensuring academic excellence throughout the school, and be an advocate of the thought that learning is not only about the details but about the overall experience in and outside the lessons.Specific Duties include but are not limited to;

  • Review student bookings in advance and work with sales offices to approve new UP students at EF Manchester
  • Scheduling UP classes for students and teachers
  • UP Curriculum review and development
  • Oversee exam implementation, including scheduling, marking and moderation
  • Student orientation
  • Create and maintain student records, including attendance tracking, test scores and progress reports
  • Resources and inventory management
  • UP teacher recruitment, onboarding, observations and ongoing development
  • Regular UP meetings
  • Working with university partners which may include visits and fairs
  • Guide students through university applications
  • Write references for all students in UP programme
  • Liaise with Sales colleagues
  • Teaching up to 50% hour bank

The ideal Assistant Director of Studies:

  • DELTA/Trinity Dip (at least DELTA module 2 completed), or enrolled on a Diploma course in TEFL
  • At least three years’ teaching experience
  • University degree
  • Aware of developments in higher education
  • Able to encourage a positive and sharing attitude to both classroom and professional issues
  • A person who teachers and students would readily go to for advice and support
  • Highly motivated, proactive and organized
  • Supports the DOS in delivery of all programmes in school with primary focus on the UP programme
  • There will be opportunities for travel, both national and international
