Über die Position

Als Assistant Director of Finance im Mandarin Oriental, Vienna bist du Teil des Finance Teams und für verschiedene Aufgaben verantwortlich. Du berichtest an unseren Director of Finance.

Als Assistant Director of Finance wirst du für folgende Aufgaben verantwortlich sein:

• Unterstützung bei der Leitung, Weiterentwicklung und Umsetzung von Finanzkontrollen und buchhalterischen Verfahren im Einklang mit den Standards des Unternehmens sowie geltenden gesetzlichen Vorgaben
• Mitwirkung bei der Analyse und Erstellung von Reports zur Erkennung und Nutzung von Chancen zur Profitabilitätssteigerung
• Aktive Mitarbeit bei der Führung der Buchhaltungsabteilung und Sicherstellung reibungsloser Finanzprozesse
• Überwachung und Mitverantwortung für die termingerechte Erstellung aller Finanzberichte, Forecasts, Analysen und Bilanzkontenabstimmung
• Kontrolle der Einnahmen und Ausgaben sowie Sicherstellung korrekter Verbuchung gemäß USALI und interner Richtlinien
• Unterstützung bei der Implementierung und Überwachung von internen Kontrollmechanismen (z. B. Einkauf, Cash Handling, Inventuren, Lohn- und Gehaltsabrechnung)
• Mitarbeit an der Budgetplanung, Kapitalplanung und monatlichen Forecasts durch fundierte Analyse und Bereitstellung relevanter Kennzahlen
• Verarbeitung der Lohn-/Gehaltsdaten inkl. Auswertungen in Zusammenarbeit mit externem Lohnverrechner

Als Assistant Director of Finance erwarten wir von dir:

• Fundierte Berufserfahrung im Finanzbereich, idealerweise im Hotel- oder Gastgewerbeumfeld; Erfahrung im Luxussegment von Vorteil
• Ausgeprägte organisatorische Fähigkeiten sowie eine strukturierte und lösungsorientierte Arbeitsweise
• Sehr gute Kenntnisse in der Erstellung und Auswertung von Finanzberichten (GuV, Bilanzen, Forecasts etc.)
• Sicherer Umgang mit komplexen, analytischem Zahlenmaterial
• Verhandlungssichere Deutsch- und Englischkenntnisse in Wort und Schrift
• Starke Kommunikations- und Präsentationsfähigkeiten
• Fähigkeit zur Priorisierung von Aufgaben sowie zur Einhaltung von Fristen
• Sehr gute MS-Excel-Kenntnisse; Erfahrung mit Systemen wie Opera/HMS, Sun, Moreton Bay, Hyperion und Shiji ist wünschenswert

About the Role

As Assistant Director of Finance at Mandarin Oriental, Vienna, you will be part of the Finance team and report directly to our Director of Finance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support in managing, developing, and implementing financial controls and accounting procedures in line with company standards and applicable regulations
• Assist with the analysis and preparation of financial reports to identify opportunities to enhance profitability
• Actively support the Accounting Department to ensure smooth and efficient financial processes
• Oversee and co-manage the timely preparation of all financial statements, forecasts, analyses, and balance sheet reconciliations
• Monitor revenues and expenditures, ensuring accurate posting in line with USALI and internal policies
• Support the implementation and monitoring of internal control mechanisms (e.g., procurement, cash handling, inventories, payroll)
• Contribute to budgeting, capital planning, and monthly forecasting through detailed analysis and provision of relevant KPIs
• Process payroll-related data and reports in collaboration with an external payroll provider

What We Are Looking For:

• Solid professional experience in finance, preferably in hospitality; luxury segment experience is a plus
• Strong organizational skills and a structured, solution-oriented work approach
• In-depth knowledge of financial reporting (P&L, balance sheets, forecasts, etc.)
• Proficiency in handling complex numerical and analytical data
• Fluency in German and English, both written and spoken
• Strong communication and presentation skills
• Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
• Excellent MS Excel skills; experience with systems such as Opera/HMS, Sun, Moreton Bay, Hyperion, and Shiji is a plus
