Job Title: Assistant Development Manager

We are currently looking for two Assistant Development Managers to join the RLAM Property Development team on a permanent basis in London.
As Assistant Development Manager, you will manage property development and refurbishment projects from inception to completion to add value to the portfolios of internal and external clients through extraction of maximum development profit from the creation of good quality investment stock throughout the UK.
You will be joining an experienced team of development managers where your development will be supported. This role will have significant variety where you will have exposure to projects across sectors including retail, industrial, offices, residential and agricultural.
About the role
You will be working across all RIBA stages of design from concept to completion to include:
-Preparing initial budgets for feasibility studies, planning applications and ensure appropriate approval received.
-Work with oversight from Development Mangers, Head of Development Project Management to select, assemble, appoint and co-ordinate teams of consultants.
-Managing and monitoring construction contracts – attending meetings with contractors.
-With oversight from HoDPM or Development Managers, co-ordinate the commercial advice from external consultants with input from the Sector teams.
-Work with the Managing Agents to facilitate handover of completed developments.
About you
-MRICS Quantity Surveying, Building Surveying or Project Management.
-Initial experience in management of property developments and construction projects.
-Initial understanding of the Town Planning system.
-Initial knowledge of standard construction contracts and procedures.
-Good degree or equivalent.
-Previous experience at either consultants or contractors (rather than just client side) preferred.
-Initial knowledge and understanding about sustainability, environmental and social responsibility issues.
