The Role:
The University of Cambridge is seeking a knowledgeable and committed individual to join the
University’s Sustainability Team as Assistant Carbon Manager.
The Sustainability Team provides strategic direction to the University on environmental
sustainability issues. It develops and implements long-term plans to reduce the University’s
carbon emissions, to manage and mitigate its environmental impacts and to comply with
regulatory requirements.
The Assistant Carbon Manager has a focus and leads on reducing the carbon impact of the
University’s labs and lab-based research. The post also leads on calculation of the
University’s carbon emissions figures, and supports the Carbon Manager with implementation of a
broad programme of initiatives to reduce the University’s carbon emissions.

About you:
In order to succeed in this role, you will join us with:
- Strong interpersonal and excellent communication skills;
- Experience of stakeholder engagement and working with a range stakeholders;
- Project management experience;

Knowledge of a range of environment sustainability matters, in particular those relating to
carbon management, research labs and facilities; -
Experience in collating, handling and analysing carbon emissions data or other environmental
data. - A commitment to achieving results and ability to self-motivate.
