Assistant Buyer

Worcester based with a balance of home and office working

£26,982 per year (pro rata)

35 hours per week

Temporary position for up to 12 months

The Procurement team at Sanctuary is looking for an ambitious, enthusiastic, hardworking individual to join a friendly and collaborative team.  Our role is to ensure Sanctuary get the best possible suppliers delivering value for money, high quality, efficiency, and our environmental and social value ambitions. We also play a key role in keeping Sanctuary safe through letting legally compliant tenders and providing great advice and support to colleagues.

The role of Assistant Buyer will include:

-Managing contracts and relationships with suppliers and internal colleagues for items such as stationery, water coolers, confidential waste disposal and fuel cards
-Holding contract review meetings
-Completing paperwork for contract extensions
-Dealing with any performance issues from the suppliers
-Contributing to continuous improvement projects with other team members
-Supporting the Group Procurement Manager on large projects
 

Skills and experiences:

-Able to work with a variety of individuals
-Good communication skills, both written and spoken
-Excellent customer service and analytical skills
-Able to work on their own initiative managing deadlines and prioritising workloads
-Experience using Microsoft packages, Outlook, Word & Excel
-Previous experience of undertaking a similar role is desirable but not essential
-Some SAP, e-tendering portal experience (ProContract preferable) and Microsoft Teams would be useful but is not essential
