This Assistant Accountant role is designed for someone who wants more than routine reporting — it’s about stepping closer to the commercial heartbeat of the business and building the skills that move you into operational finance. 

You’ll sit at the centre of day-to-day financial activity, gaining exposure to costing, forecasting and business performance across manufacturing, supply chain and R&D. If progression matters to you and you want a role that will actively develop rather than stand still, this is where it starts. 

This is a full-time role, based in the office 5 days per week. The office is based in a very rural location, so your own transport is essential.

– Supporting management accounts preparation, schedules and financial commentary
– Producing cost of sales, stock and margin reporting
– Assisting with budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis

– Maintaining the fixed asset register and related reporting
– Contributing to ERP improvements and finance process development

What you’ll bring to the table as an Assistant Accountant

– Previous experience supporting management accounts processes
– Part-qualified status or equivalent finance training
– Strong Excel capability and confidence working with financial data
– Exposure to costing or manufacturing finance environments
– Ability to work across multiple operational areas with financial accuracy
