In the role of RE Asset Protection Manager (APM), you will sit at the helm of creating these experiences. The APM is part of the local Real Estate organisation and works collaboratively to keep Shell organisation/assets secure, whilst having the customer experiences in mind as well.

What´s the role

Your main accountabilities will include:

  • Responsible for daily operational security at Shell corporate locations in the Hamburg and Berlin area, coordinating the delivery of adequate operational security/ man guarding, access-pass issuing, reception, hospitality, Incident Management (IM) and Emergency Response (ER) activities direct or via the contracted party.

  • Provide advice and consultancy to non-core locations across Germany or beyond.

  • Engage proactively with business leaders (or their delegates) to ensure business led initiatives, which impacts asset protection, can be executed smoothly. Examples include event management, VIP visitors, visiting groups.

  • Manage through influencing the Security Contracts with the security providers, and the security technology provider, ensuring adequate rostering, timetabling and execution of operational services.

  • Oversee all security incidents and, if necessary, assume responsibility for their investigation to ensure thorough enquiry is conducted at all sites in scope.

  • Proactively initiating discussing the need for changes in (global/regional/local) security policies and/or standards and if required provides input in global security policies or standards.

  • Lead security risk analyses/assessments on security threats, advises mitigating measures, and implements them in close cooperation with the contracted party.

  • Maintain and expand stakeholder engagement with members of local fire department, (national) police and municipality. Supports, advises, and aligns external network(ing) with other APM’s in the region/around the globe.

  • Provide (information) security awareness training on site as required.

  • Ensure financial performance of scope is planned, tracked and assured in line with relevant financial and budget guidelines.

Dimensions

The Asset Protection Manager is responsible for Security operations at approx. 5 locations including office and industrial types. The individual provides the right environment for 40-50 contracted security staff to operate effectively and efficiently through 3 contractor site leads. The role requires between 10%-20% travel with regular presence at the Hamburg sites.

What we need from you

  • Security professional with a proven track record of a minimum of 10 years’ experience of Security work in a Supervisory or Managerial role within the Police, Armed Forces or in the Contract Security industry and be able to demonstrate a proven track record of delivering on challenging tasks in a demanding and operational environment.

  • Security Management qualification at HBO-level (= University level minus 1) is a preference

  • Candidate should be a certificated PFSO (Port Facility Security Officer) and Certified fire/emergency squad member (abgeschlossene Truppmann Ausbildung)

  • Experience with assessing threats and risks, and defining preventive mitigations. Work experience in performing Security Risk Assessments, Security Plans and ability to transfer this knowledge to others.

  • Experience in leading and driving change and the ability to further develop the role in the changing needs of areas of responsibility.

  • Comfortable working with, and leading through uncertainty, complexity, ambiguity, and incomplete information.

  • Experience in developing, managing/supervising and motivating high performance integrated teams.

  • Proven ability to initiate, build and maintain in- and extern networks with peers, Police, Military, Government and Municipality.

  • Strong affinity with crisis management, security, hospitality, emergency response and business continuity.

  • Can demonstrate external focus, simplicity, and speed of delivery.

  • Fluent in German and English in writing and communication.
