Offer DescriptionRole profile: We are seeking a PhD in Agronomy or related Life Sciences who will give value to existing data by analysis and scientific publication.Duties and responsibilities: the postdoctoral researcher will be in charge of analyzing existing datasets on N provision strategies (fertilization, biological nitrogen fixation) to a range of crops and on cereal adaptation to warming through N fertilization strategies and giving value to them as scientific publications. Involvement in projects management (10%) will also be required.Qualifications and skills:

  • PhD in Agronomy or related Life Sciences.
  • Demonstrable skills in data collection and statistical analysis for life sciences.
  • Strong scientific writing skills.
  • Expertise on crop production, management practices and N cycling.
  • High command of English.
  • Ability to work independently and in collaboration with other researchers.
  • Expertise on Mediterranean cropping systems will be welcomed.

Terms: 18 months’ postdoctoral research contract at Universitat de Lleida (UdL) (Lleida, Spain). Salary according to Spanish laws. Expected to begin by early 2025.About the lab: Flat laboratory aimed at foster innovation in agriculture through empirical and modelling strategies to improve our mechanistic understanding of agroecosystems. We focus on participatory research in collaboration with local stakeholders and establishing on-farm field experiments. We work on the interface between agronomy, soil sciences and environmental sciences.
