A growing business concerned with producing leading technology protection relays and medium voltage circuit breakers often employed in highly critical electrical power systems across a global client base is looking for an Assembly Technician/Electrical Wire Person to join the team.

We are a long established and growing company that can offer the right candidate good personal and
career development. Along with a salary of up to £28,000 per annum, you will also receive 20-25 days holiday (plus Bank Holidays) plus a pension scheme

This is an excellent role for an experienced Mechanical or Electrical fitter familiar with a broad scope of assembly tasks and electrical panel wiring ideally from a switchgear background and willing to be a key part of the in-house production team of bespoke medium voltage circuit breaker designs for the
replacement of ageing original equipment 

What you’ll do as Assembly Technician/Electrical Wire Person: 

– Fitting conductor bushings to circuit breakers via copper bus bar
– Assembly of interlock mechanisms and lifting jacks
– Interact with design, fabrication and test personnel

We’re looking for an Assembly Technician/Electrical Wire Person with:

– Able to assemble switchgear trucks comprising components made from sheet steel parts

– Familiar with manual and powered hands tools, e.g., impact drivers, torque wrench, manual
crimpers – Able to understand and follow mechanical assembly drawings
– Experience in wiring industrial control panels and systems to EN 60204
– Ability to read and interpret an electrical wiring schematic
– Experience of assembling spring charged and magnetic actuator mechanisms and interlocking
– Overhead crane and manual stacker lifting
