Area Manager – Housing
Sheffield
£39,543 – £41,624 per year
37.5 hours per week – Monday to Friday
We have an exciting opportunity for an Area Manager – Housing to join our team based in Sheffield, covering South Yorkshire, Nottingham and some parts of Lincolnshire. You will oversee the day to day management of a team of seven Housing Officers and six Scheme Managers and support the achievement of regulatory and performance targets. We are seeking a candidate with a strong customer focus to be a visible presence in our Neighborhoods.
The role of Area Manager – Housing will include:
-Ensuring anti-social behaviour, compliance checks and general estate management are dealt with in line with relevant policies and procedures
-Contribute, along with other Area Managers, to the management of the North housing portfolio
-Carry out performance management meetings with the team and on an individual level
-Effectively manage complaints
-Assist, support and advise members of the team in complex matters, ensuring the required training is provided
-Manage and approve invoices and contribute to budget setting
-Support the team with service charges and queries
-Attend court as required to support officers in complex legal cases
-Contribute to meetings with stakeholders, internal and external, either face to face or via teams
Skills and experiences:
-A relevant qualification in housing management and / or be working towards a qualification
-A basic knowledge of Microsoft Office
-Knowledge of relevant housing legislation and regulatory frameworks
-An excellent understanding of tenancy management particularly successions, mutual exchange and tenancy changes
-An understanding of how principles of case work to effectively manage anti-social behaviour
-An understanding of risk management and how this applies to housing management
-Travel is a requirement of the role, therefore a full valid driving licence is essential
