Bilfinger UK are looking for candidates to join the business as an apprentice in Electrical Installation and Maintenance for our 2024 Apprenticeship in take. 

The aim of the Apprenticeship in Construction and the Built Environment is to attract and develop talent in Electrical Installation. Electricians will use engineering knowledge and understanding their technical and practical skills. They will contribute to the design, development, manufacture, construction, commissioning, operation or maintenance of products, equipment, processes, systems or services.

Installation Electricians work on the installation, testing, commissioning and maintenance of low voltage electrical and electronic devices and appliances. Maintenance Electricians work on the maintenance of electrical and electronic installations including automated production systems. Duties include the supervision of the equipment, maintenance and repairs. Electricians must understand and apply the principles, practices and legislation for the termination and connection of conductors, cables and cords in electrical systems. Alongside this, they may contribute to the design of electrical.  Electricians organise the work environment and might work in both indoor and outdoor settings. Electrical equipment and systems may include switchboards, motors, cables, fuses, thermal relays, fault current protection switches, heating, lighting, air conditioning and metering equipment as well as crime and fire alarm systems.

Training provided

The training provided will meet the required knowledge, skills and behaviours as required in the Level 3 Apprenticeship Standard Installation Electrician and Maintenance Electrician (ST0152). 

Qualifications Required

-National 5 (N5) or equivalent (Grade C or better) in English Language and Mathematics is essential

-Individuals need to have good communication skills, both written and verbal, IT skills, number skills, analytical skills, demonstrate attention to detail, logical attitude and be a team player
-Individuals must be able to demonstrate a willingness and passion to develop skills within industry, be hardworking, confident and organised
