If so, we have an exciting opportunity for an Apprentice Project Manager to join our project management consultancy team based in London, to work on Healthcare Projects across London. You will be joining a team of like-minded experts that have a passion for innovation and delivering cutting-edge solutions.

Job Summary:

As an Apprentice Project Manager, you will be expected to work with Project Managers or Senior Project Managers to successfully manage and deliver healthcare construction projects.

In addition to our opportunities to experience small healthcare projects, you will also have the ability to work as part of an integrated team on a significant component of a large healthcare project, that will be led by an Associate or Director. With our commitment to development, we would expect you to take the opportunity to learn and develop within the role.

The role would cover the whole project lifecycle from initial inception and business case development, through the design, procurement process, site delivery, commissioning phase and defects management.

This role is for Projects based in London. You will have the opportunity to visit and experience working construction sites, and may be required to sporadically visit our office in Oxford, where our centre of excellence for the Healthcare, Science and Education Sectors is located.

The Project Management Apprenticeship will start September 2024. You will work towards a Project Management / Construction Management degree over 4-5 years, with an additional period to allow you to complete your studies and successfully apply for membership of a chartered professional institution such as RICS, CIOB or APM.

Job Responsibilities:

As an Apprentice Project Manager, you will be responsible for the following:

  • Provide support to the Project Lead that has the responsibility of being the primary interface with AECOM clients (New and Existing).

  • To provide effective support to Project Managers and / or Senior Project Managers via the project administration process e.g. recording of notes/actions, information trackers/registers, archiving.

  • Support the management of the delivery of project management team outputs, in accordance with agreed timescales and quality standards.

  • Ensure there has been a sign off of all management information produced by project management teams prior to issue.

  • Assist in the delivery of Project Management Commissions.

  • To support ‘winning’ clients through the quality of your work outputs, effective communication and demonstration of professional behaviours.

  • Be directed by the leadership within project management business and from within your project team.

  • Ensure you complete all relevant trainings and progress your University work in line with the agreed timescale.

Qualifications

No relevant experience is required for this role. The position is ideally suited to school leavers at A-Level standard (or equivalent) who can demonstrate:

  • Minimum 96 UCAS points (or equivalent).

  • Minimum of grade ‘C’ Maths & English GCSE (or equivalent).

  • An interest in and desire to pursue a career in Project Management and the Built Environment.

  • An aptitude towards good logic, problem solving and strong organisational skills.

  • Commitment to continued education and improvement through both on-the-job learning and training opportunities. Willing to learn from more experienced colleagues.

  • Ability to work both virtually / remote working and from office / site.

  • Ability to work as part of a team.

  • Practical, adaptable and enthusiastic.

  • English language proficient, holding excellent communication skills.
