Role Overview:
The incumbent will be an important member of a strong team who support, manage and maintain the capital markets electronic trading platform for the London & Dublin sales and trading desks. The role will directly interface with FX, Equities and Fixed Income business users.
This position will have responsibilities supporting business units in both Dublin and London.
What You’ll Do:
• Provide application support to the European trading desks.
• Troubleshoot problems with day to day technical and functionals operations raised by the trading desks and provide clearly defined solutions.
• Monitor and proactively maintain the electronic trading platforms primarily made up of ION Trading’s MMI and Anvil software components.
• Effectively liaise with other front and back-office teams.
• Incident management and communication of the status of all incidents to both business and technology management.
• Prepare maintenance plans and upgrade schedules for the front office platforms.
• Troubleshoot complex pricing and risk calculation issues
• Work closely with the other teams within GBME and Technology Infrastructure.
• Participate in business continuity and disaster recovery exercises, executing cutover procedures, identifying areas for improvement, and maintaining accurate DR documentation.
• Clear, accurate and current support procedures for addressing common tasks, identifying, and designing permanent solutions and automation ideas.
What You’ll Bring:
• Experience working with trading desks.
• Experience with the Linux operating system and basic scripting and SQL knowledge
• Knowledge of networking technologies, common operating systems, hardware and protocols.
• Intermediate knowledge of ION Trading’s MMI & Anvil server and front-end components.
• Experience with dealing with market exchanges and electronic brokerage platforms for example MTS, Eurex and Bloomberg.
• Proactive problem-solving skills.
• People orientated individual with a team focus.
• Drive and determination to own issues through to resolution.
• Experience writing technical guides and documentation.
• Awareness of ITIL and IT service management principles.
