Leading the team of highly skilled specialists, the aim is to provide technical support to our customers and our sales organization in Europe, the Middle East and Africa, and participate in the development of new solutions.The Bakery, Bars and Confectionary (BBC) team strives to be the preferred partner of our customers, delivering high-value, sustainable, and consumer relevant solutions for BBC. We are looking for an experienced senior technical manager to lead our regional application development and technical service team for the EAME region.Key responsibilitiesThe Regional Application Leader is responsible for leading a team of approx. 5-7 application specialists, scientists and technologists who support our customers in Europe, Africa, and the Middle East. As the site in Brabrand is a Hero site, support to global customers is also part of the work scope. The regional application development team is located at our Innovation center in Brabrand. The team works closely with Sales, BU and Marketing to pursue sales opportunities and develop (customized) solutions for the application of Ingredient solutions in BBC products in EMEA. This includes the generation of technical proof points for product launches and leveraging existing products into new application areas.The Regional Application Leader monitors and evaluates project progress and results to determine improvements needed to meet ultimate business objectives. This includes the allocation of resources, providing technical guidance and leadership, coaching and development of team members, and taking responsibility for work group safety (including application labs). The Regional Application Leader builds sustainable relationships with internal stakeholders and customers, participates in key account teams and internal R&D and/or application projects, and represents the company at external conferences or industry meetings in EAME. The role also includes the development of capabilities to support the product segment strategies including future staffing requirements and capex plan.

Job Requirements

• Academic degree (MSc or PhD) in a (bio-)chemical or engineering discipline with 10+ years’ experience, preferably in a R&D/technical role in the food (baking/bar) industry.
• Proven experience as team / people leader with good interpersonal and coaching skills (including good communication skills)
• Has an interest in leading and developing a team of dedicated technical minded people. And developing the team from regional to global perspective.
• Team-player who enjoys working in an international environment.
• Working out of Brabrand, but willing to travel
• Being customer centric, pragmatic and solution oriented (“we can do it” – attitude)
• Has experience in the food industry, optimal from Bakery or Bar production.
• Experience from / know how to navigate in a matrix organization (preferable +10 years)
• Interest/experience in stakeholder management (matrix organization)
• Demonstrated working knowledge of scientific principles, design of experiment, and project management skills.
• Strong communication skills.
• Has experience from the food industry, optimally Bakery or Bar production, or Ingredients
• You will be working out of Brabrand Denmark with approx. 30 days/year of travelling
