Job Description:Division: Group Business Solutions (GBS)Please note that this is a permanent position and we do not offer a contract or freelancing arrangement.We are looking for a Cash Mainframe Applications Designer to join the GBS Cash and Banking Tribe, whose mission is to provide IT solutions to support the credit, treasury, and cash services of Euroclear Bank.You will be part of the Cash area, which offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the further modernization of our IT landscape. The Cash application landscape will be evolving significantly over the next 5 years with the ambition to migrate the core Cash payment processing onto a new package (which runs on Linux).This Cash Modernization program will require significant analysis and design work to adapt the existing flows to the new processes. Hence, we are looking for an additional designer to perform technical analysis and design solutions primarily for the applications on the Mainframe platform (PL/1), while also gaining knowledge in Linux and the new cash package.Your responsibilities:

• Designs applications in line with the required business and operational requirements, while ensuring compatibility with the enterprise-wide architectural and design guidelines.
• Ensures the accurate translation of business requirements and operational constraints into a structured and efficient set of functional and data models.
• Leads the process of detailed design. Formulates and defines system scope and objectives for assigned projects. Devises or modifies procedures to solve complex problems, considering computer equipment capacity and limitations, operating time, and the form of desired results.
• May be responsible for the quality review of the functional and technical design delivered by other designers.
• Is responsible for the quality review of the program specifications and documentation performed by the individuals assigned to the development of their own design.
• May produce program specifications for complex or critical applications and be in charge of the quality review of the coding, testing, and debugging of these programs.
• May make a significant contribution to the improvement of standards for the application design function.
• Possesses comprehensive knowledge of all phases of application design, as well as a solid understanding of the application development and testing phases. Has a strong understanding of the business or function for which the application is designed.
• As a member of an Agile squad, you will actively participate in the ceremonies and the continuous improvement of the team by coaching other team members and helping set up procedures and documentation (functional/technical).
• You will participate in the production support for Cash applications.

Occasionally, may:

• Contribute to application testing activities.
• Guide and support individuals who are in charge of fixing problems and making enhancements to application software running in production.

Qualifications:

• Very good analytical skills.
• Experience in an Agile environment or openness to change.
• Proactive and a good team player.
• Minimum of 5+ years of experience in PL/1.
• Expertise in Linux is a plus.
• Good communication skills.

Technical Skills:

• Programming Languages: PL/1 (Good Knowledge), JCL, DB2, Stored Procedures, PL/SQL, VSAM, CICS.
• Databases: Mainframe DB2.
• Tools: File Manager, SPUFI, QMF, Fault Analyzer.
