Airline Account Management Principal

This role acts as a primary regional contact for our airline existing customers as well as new prospects in EMEA. This is a hunters and farmers position; the main goal is to generate new business opportunities with existing and new customers and to retain existing customers. Define and implement a business development and retention strategy for the assigned customers, through high level of service. Being the account manager in the region, they have the responsibility of working with business functions and other organizations like Product, Services, Marketing, Finance, and Legal to address customers’ requirements.

Customer Excellence

  • Develop a relationship structure between the relevant levels of decision for both Amadeus and customer organizations
  • Facilitate and foster this relationship to maximize information flow, influencing, lobbying and customer’s satisfaction
  • Advocate customer voice into Amadeus to ensure the best service to customer
  • Escalation point for customer issues when standard escalation processes have failed
  • Ensure contract execution for the interest of both Amadeus and customer and liaise with legal to resolve issues
  • Ensure constant alignment of implemented services, contracted services & invoices
  • Monitor quality of product and service delivery to customer, escalate delivery issues, request improvements if needed
  • Work independently, provides leadership and direction to other Managers and contributes to a culture of innovation.

New sales

  • Drive commercial and functional projects to create value added solutions.
  • Manage directly (for simple sales) or through the sales organization the targeting, sale, negotiation and contracting processes for additional products & services.
  • Approve proposals, response to RFPs, delivery plans proposed by the business units.
  • Ensure that CRM information is updated at all times.
  • Ensure billing is correct and collection is according to plan.

Business Development & Budgeting

  • Conduct high-level industry research to develop effective sales solutions
  • Promote the Amadeus products and services to prospective clients , who can be outside the aviation industry
  • Interact with clients to develop potential new products and services

Marketing

  • Advocate customer voice within Amadeus and externally within the aviation industry
  • Coordinate case studies, quotes and references with customers
  • Support marketing initiatives

About the ideal candidate

  • Masters university degree in economics, management, engineering or equivalent

>5 years airline experience in a commercial role, ideally revenue management

>5 years sales experience within the aviation industry

  • Extensive knowledge about commercial airline IT landscape (revenue management, eCommerce, distribution etc) and processes
  • Effective communication, presentation and leadership skills
  • Project management skills preferred
  • Fluent level of English
