Air Quality Technician

Location: Birmingham Salary: GBP40,000 – GBP50,000 + Benefits

A leading environmental consultancy is seeking an experienced Air Quality Team Leader to join and lead its expanding Birmingham team. This is an exceptional opportunity for a motivated professional to take ownership of project delivery, mentor junior consultants, and contribute to business growth – all while working on high-profile industrial emissions, stack testing, and regulatory compliance projects across the Birmingham region and beyond.

As the Air Quality Team Leader based in Birmingham, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring technical excellence across a wide range of air quality monitoring and compliance projects. Candidates holding MCERTS Level 2 (TE1 or TE2) certification are strongly preferred, with proven experience in stack emissions monitoring, client management, and leading successful project teams.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead and manage a growing team of consultants and technicians in Birmingham

Oversee stack emissions monitoring and compliance testing projects
*

Deliver and review technical reports to the highest standards
*

Manage client relationships across diverse industrial sectors
*

Mentor and support junior consultants’ professional development
*

Ensure all work aligns with MCERTS TE1/TE2 and regulatory requirements

Requirements:

Minimum 5 years’ experience in air quality consultancy or stack testing

MCERTS Level 2 (TE1 or TE2) qualification essential
*

Strong understanding of industrial emissions and environmental regulation
*

Degree in Environmental Science, Chemistry, or a related discipline
*

Demonstrated leadership and client-facing experience
*

Full UK driving licence
