Job Title: MCERTS Level 2 Stack Tester
Location: Birmingham
Salary: GBP28,000 – GBP40,000 (DOE)

I’m delighted to be recruiting on behalf of a leading multi-disciplinary environmental consultancy known for delivering high-quality testing, inspection, monitoring, and consultancy services across the UK. Due to continued growth, they are now looking to bring on an experienced MCERTS Level 2 Stack Tester to join their expanding Stack Emissions Monitoring team.

This is a brilliant opportunity to join a respected organisation where you’ll play a key role in providing emissions monitoring services, supporting clients with environmental performance and regulatory compliance.

The Role

You’ll be responsible for monitoring emissions from chimney stacks at industrial and commercial sites across the UK and occasionally Europe. The position is hands-on, involving site work, data analysis, travel, and contributing to high-quality technical reporting.

Key Responsibilities

Carry out stack emissions monitoring in line with MCERTS standards

Produce clear, accurate, and detailed technical reports
*

Maintain strong communication with clients before, during, and after site work
*

Conduct laboratory/analytical tasks linked to emissions monitoring
*

Work effectively within a team to ensure successful project delivery

Essential Requirements

MCERTS Level 2 Stack Testing qualification with at least 2 years’ practical experience
*

Full UK driving licence
*

GCSEs in English & Maths
*

Strong IT capability (Excel, Word, etc.)
*

Willingness to travel and stay away when required
*

Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions and at heights of up to 200ft
*

Experience in report writing, client communication, and emissions monitoring techniques

Desirable

Degree or further qualification in Environmental Science or a related field

Technical endorsements (achieved or in progress)
