AI research EngineerAbout the positionAt dotOcean, we’re navigating uncharted waters with the winds of innovation at our backs. As we pioneer the future of maritime and defense, we’re seeking skilled AI Research Engineers to join our crew. As an AI Research Engineer, you’ll be at the forefront of developing cutting-edge algorithms for autonomous robotics and drones, shaping the future of maritime technology.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign next-generation algorithms to improve robotic decision making, trajectory optimization, and world mapping.Use machine/deep learning algorithms to build world models of the environment around the robots.Translate practical control/navigation/mapping problems into optimization problems with concrete objectives and constraints.Convert developed algorithms into embedded software.Test, evaluate, and retest developed algorithms extensively on real robots for a wide range of scenarios.Work closely with the research team and project manager.Take ownership of research projects and reporting.Be the AI expert in the dotOcean team.Experience & skills we are looking forBachelor’s degree within three years in a scientific field (geology, physics, bioengineering…).Industrial and/or academic expertise in defining and solving optimization problems.Machine learning proficiency (CNN, RNN, LSTM, Transformers, VAE, DRL), advanced statistics, and AI in general.
