The Role

This is an opportunity to join the Professional Services Team in the School of Education, Communication and Language Sciences. You will provide administrative support to ensure the smooth and effective running of degree programmes within the school.

Key Accountabilities

-To work as part of a team providing a comprehensive administrative service for the Learning and Teaching functions of the school
-Provide, check and update student and education-related data and documentation using University systems
-Co-ordinate and provide administrative support for designated committees, including meeting organisation, dissemination of documents and minute-taking 
-Responsible for the completion of tasks that are unique to the discipline or programme for example, examinations and workshop coordination
-To work flexibly and develop a good working knowledge of relevant administrative systems
-To carry out other duties, as defined by line manager, which assist to the successful achievement of the school’s vision and strategy

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

-Ability to prioritise own work and remain calm under pressure to manage competing deadlines, and ensures that all activities are completed on time
-Ability to communicate clearly orally and in writing
-Good IT skills, including good working knowledge of Microsoft Office
-Able to work on own initiative and as a member of a team and interact well with staff at all levels

-Good attention to detail
-Good organisational skills with ability to solve problems
Desirable

-Experience of providing a professional, customer-focused administrative service
-Experience of committee servicing and minute writing

Qualifications

-Grades A-C in English Language and Mathematics at GCSE (or equivalent) or vocational qualifications
