The Role

Working as part of the Professional Services Team in the School of Education, Communication and Language Sciences, you will provide administrative and professional support to ensure the smooth and effective running of degree programmes within the school. As part of this role, you will collaborate closely with the Clinical Director and our NHS partners, specifically focusing on clinical administration, for example, the co-ordination of placements within a healthcare setting.

We are looking for a candidate who can work alongside our diverse student body, academic staff, and NHS stakeholders. Your organisational skills and ability to prioritise tasks will be essential in ensuring the delivery of degree programmes within the school. You will be able to work flexibly to support the broader team’s objectives and initiatives.

This is a full-time position with an open-ended contract.

Key Accountabilities

-To work as part of a team providing a comprehensive administrative service for the Learning and Teaching functions of the school
-Provide, check and update student and education-related data and documentation using University systems
-Co-ordinate and provide administrative support for designated committees, including meeting organisation, dissemination of documents and minute-taking
-Responsible for the completion of tasks that are unique to the discipline or programme for example, examinations and workshop coordination
-To work flexibly and develop a good working knowledge of relevant administrative systems
-To carry out other duties, as defined by line manager, which assist to the successful achievement of the School’s vision and strategy

-Ability to prioritise own work and remain calm under pressure to manage competing deadlines, and ensures that all activities are completed on time
-Good digital skills, including good working knowledge of Microsoft Office
-Good attention to detail
-Good organisational skills with ability to solve problems
-Ability to communicate clearly orally and in writing
-Experience of providing a professional, customer-focused administrative service

-Experience of committee servicing and minute writing

Qualifications

•  Grades A-C in English Language and Mathematics at GCSE (or equivalent) or vocational qualifications
