Salary: Grade 05 £24,715- £27,396 per annum (pro rata) together with NEST pension benefits. The normal expectation is that the successful applicant will be appointed to the minimum of the scale with annual increments on 1 August each year (subject to completing six months service).

Contract: Fixed-term until 31 March 2024. 35 hours per week  – full time

Location: Mixture between Singleton Campus and at home working

This is an exciting opportunity for a self motivated, highly organised and professional individual to join the Centre for Ageing and Dementia Research (CADR) as the Administrative Assistant.  CADR is funded by the Welsh Government through Health and Care Research Wales.  CADR’s mission is to develop a world-class integrated research centre spanning multidisciplinary activity and developing areas of expertise from biological, through psycho-social and environmental to social policy in ageing and dementia.

CADR aims to improve the lives of older people in Wales and elsewhere through the combination of research on ageing, policy and practice. Our work will be delivered through four interlinked work packages (WPs):

  • Environments of Ageing
  • Characterising dementia and cognition in ageing
  • Social inclusion for health and wellbeing in later life
  • Research methods, public and professional engagement and involvement

As a member of this exciting infrastructure, the post holder will play an integral role in the day-to-day administration of the Institute, providing a pro-active, professional and confidential administrative service.  The role will include working closely with key administrative functions of the College and Partner Institutions to ensure the smooth running of the Centre. The role will also involve working closely with the core management team to plan and organise varying events/conferences/meetings and assist in facilitating CADR’s social media platform.

The applicant will be a highly enthusiastic, approachable and confident individual who is able to use their initiative and is capable of working under pressure in a professional environment. They should possess excellent planning, prioritisation and organisational skills with demonstrated event management and financial administration experience. They will be expected to provide exceptional customer care, demonstrating outstanding judgement to successfully deliver outcomes within agreed timescales and to the required standard.
