Job start date: asapContract/Hours: PermanentSalary Type: Grade DHours of work: 37.5 hours per week, Mon-Fri 8.30am-4.30pm, 40 weeks a year.
The successful candidate will have proven experience in administration and be able to run a well-organised office. The post holder must have good interpersonal skills and be prepared to work as part of a friendly and driven office team. Candidates will need to have a professional attitude and be able to communicate and relate easily with children, parents, school staff and visitors, whilst maintaining discretion and confidentiality at all times.
Applicants must hold a minimum of 5 GCSEs including maths and English. Candidates with CSBM and/or AAT qualifications who have worked in an accounting environment for at least 3 years would be advantageous. Knowledge of SAP/IBC, HCSS Budgeting, Parentmail or Arbor would be useful but training can be provided. IT skills, including word processing, spreadsheets, email and school based software to enable the effective administrative running of the school are essential.
The successful candidate will be required to:
Finance• Prepare, manage and monitor the school’s budget• Prepare regular financial accounting reports for the Headteacher and Governing Body and potentially attend Committee Meetings in an advisory capacity• Be highly organised, flexible and able to prioritise workload• Purchasing and payment of goods and services, liaising with suppliers and contractors• Process claims for additional income i.e. grant income• Manage the day to day operation of finance, including petty cash and individual budget areas• Debt collection
HR• Using IBC/SAP forms to generate staff pay and changes to terms and conditions• Administration of safer recruitment processes in line with DfE guidance• Book and maintain training courses for staff• Liaise with supply agencies to ensure cover for teachers• Maintain Single Central Register and carry out pre-employment checks
Health and Safety• Be a qualified Paediatric First Aider or have a willingness to undertake training• Be responsible for the management of Health and Safety in the school alongside the Site Manager• Carry out risk assessments
Premises• Ensure premises are safe, secure and clean, liaising with external agencies to ensure compliance with legislation• Maintain and manage ICT equipment and systems
Administration• General office duties including meeting and greeting parents and visitors• Assisting children with first aid• Supporting the administration of the school breakfast club• Managing communications with the senior administrative assistant
