Offer DescriptionDean of the Faculty of Geography and Regional Studies, with the approval of the Rector of University of Warsaw announces a competition for a position of an adjunct in the group of the teaching staff, in the Chair of Geomatics and Information Systems (WGSR_K1_2024), full-time position for an indefinite period. Candidates have to meet conditions defined in the 20.07.2018 Law on higher education and science (DZ.U. from year 2020 position no. 85, with subsequent changes) as well as the Statue of the University of Warsaw (UW Monitor from year 2019, position no. 190, with subsequent changes).Requirements: • Ph.D. degree in Earth Sciences, • familiarity with GIS software (ArcGIS, QGIS, SAGA GIS), ability to use remote teaching software and conduct blended learning classes, • experience in teaching GIS and geoinformatics, including teaching to foreign students, • publications in the field of GIS applications, • experience in conducting and coordinating activities that popularize scientific knowledge, • competence development supported by training, • good knowledge of the English language. Responsibilities related to the positionTeaching: • realization of teaching hours at the first and the second level studies, including lectures, seminars, exercises, outdoor courses, • improving professional competences, • realization of other teaching tasks, including: examination of students, guidance of students annual and semester assignments, elaboration of syllabuses and teaching materials, and teaching consultations.Other responsibilities: • participation in examination commissions, • documentation of teaching, • participation of faculty commissions and meeting held by the chair, • participation in university task teams and development programs, • realization of other tasks commissioned by the Rector, Dean or director of the Chair.Where to apply E-mail[email protected]RequirementsResearch Field Geography Education Level PhD or equivalentSkills/Qualifications

The invitation, as well as the information on the final results, will be sent by email. The decision on the results of the competition will be made by September 13, 2024.
