Law on higher education and science (Journal of Laws of 2018, item 1668).An applicant should meet the following criteria:

  • hold a Ph.D. (as minimum) in political and administrative studies or international relations or security studies or history;
  • represent the field of social sciences in one of the following disciplines: political and administrative sciences, international relations, security studies or history;
  • demonstrate readiness to take up employment at the University of Lodz as the primary place of work;
  • have the necessary abilities to carry out scientific research and academic education academic achievements in the area of theory and history of international relations, political and administrative sciences, foreign policy and its theory, national and international security;
  • have experience in organizing scientific conferences;
  • demonstrate high scientific activity expressed in scored publications and participation in national and international conferences;
  • have a high level of Polish and English proficiency sufficient for teaching and scientific communication in this languages (non-Polish citizens should present a certificate confirming the Polish language efficiency);
  • have experience in teaching at the academic level in Polish, experience in teaching in English can be an additional asset;
  • have the ability to work in a team;

The additional criterias that may be considered are as following:

  • have a high level of other than English foreign language(s) confirmed by a certificate(s);
  • experience in the organisational activities at the academic level
  • have experience in conducting field research;
  • have participated as co-worker in research projects;
  • have an organisational experience in non-academic work.

Responsibilities:

  • scope of tasks in the area of research;
  • conducting scientific research in the declared scientific discipline
  • submitting grant applications in departmental, university and non-university proceedings;
  • submitting articles, chapters in monographs, or monograps for publication in periodicals and scientific publications;

Responsibilities in area of teaching duties:

  • conducting teaching classes carried out as part of an employment relationship on an annual basis;
  • timely preparation of study documentation for academic teachers;
  • conducting examinations and tests, including diploma examinations;
  • supervising students’ final and semester papers;
  • conducting and reviewing diploma theses;
  • developing teaching materials for classes;
  • conducting consultations with students at a set number of hours;
  • ensuring high quality of education and compliance of teaching work with the principles of the internal education quality assurance system;
  • performing other teaching duties assigned by the direct superior;

Responsibilities in area of organizational duties:

  • working on recruitment committees and examination committees in the university recruitment process;
  • organizing promotional and presentation campaigns for the Faculty and University and participating in them;
  • organizing conferences, symposia, seminars and other forms of academic activity;
  • other organizational activities aimed at improving the functioning of the Faculty and University, improving the quality of education and scientific research;
  • performing other organizational duties assigned by the direct superior.

  • Polish language certificate (non-Polish candidates).
