Salary Range: £40,950-£44,394 Pro rata (Full-time 37 hours)
Work Location: Near Fareham
Hours per week: 30 hours, Monday – Friday with flexible office hours

We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join us as a Deputy Manager, within a national policing unit.
About the role
The ACRO Deputy Manager post is key to the operational delivery of all ACRO business areas. ACRO has 4 main business delivery portfolios with Deputy Managers in each, some are process and product focused whilst others are working on business and systems development, as an ACRO Deputy Manager you will be expected to work in any one of these business areas.
The successful candidate will manage their own workload and that of their team, deal with personnel matters and develop work streams relating to the wider strategic aims for the delivery of ACRO’s purpose – To support UK and international law enforcement by processing criminal records for the purposes of public protection, safeguarding and worldwide community safety.
-We are looking for a new team member with experience in managing people, whilst also working with both internal and external stakeholders. You will provide clear, effective and visible leadership for your business area and support the ACRO Senior Manager to deliver against strategic objectives.
-Experienced in project management, delivering complex programmes of work that contribute to the purpose of the organisation and the delivery of strategic objectives.
-Practice continuous improvement, good risk and budget management and engender a culture of flexible working practices to make the most effective and efficient use of resources and service delivery to meet changing business needs.
-Manage, direct, develop and support all staff ensuring high professional standards, especially in respect of integrity, equality and diversity, which ensures ACRO maintains its status of being ‘a centre of excellence’ in respect of national criminal record matters and supports a ‘can do’ organisational culture.
-Engage and develop relationships with partner agencies (such as Government Agencies, Home Office Officials, disclosure and vetting agencies, external suppliers and Foreign Embassies) in relation to the work of ACRO.
-To represent ACRO at national/international meetings where required, advising on issues as appropriate.
-Whilst the size of your team may vary from 15 to 60 first and second line reports, the challenges you will face will always be diverse and will use your ingenuity and experience.
Please note that you may be required to work unsocial hours on occasion, sometimes at short notice in order to meet constantly changing business needs.
As the role requires regular business travel, you must also be flexible and prepared to stay away from home when required.

Essential Qualifications
-Educated to QCF Level 6 OR work experience deemed to have brought the postholder to a comparable level.
