Accounts and Bookkeeping Manager
Location: King’s Lynn
Salary: A£27,000 – A£30,000 per annum, (dependent on experience)
Hours: Monday to Friday 9:00- 16:00 (Lunch break 12:00- 13:00)
Our client is the Statutory Port, Harbour and Pilotage Authority for King’s Lynn, providing the pilotage and towage for the Port of King’s Lynn.
The Role
Working for a local Port Authority with responsibility of the general administration of accounts and payroll duties and assisting the Harbour Master with day-to-day tasks.
Key Responsibilities
* Maintain accurate records in accounting systems.
* Accurately record VAT.
* Data entry and reconciliations.
* Collate Pilots notes and cargo forms.
* Enter vessel details onto computer for database and producing invoices.
* Manage invoices with reminders and letters as required.
* Receiving payments of invoices and payments to bank.
* Entering payments of invoices and payments to bank into accounting system.
* Management of staff payroll.
* Answer, send and respond to emails.
* Answering telephone system.
* Collate Purchase Invoices and keep a record, distribute for verification and raise payments and pay by due date.
* Enter purchase ledger details on invoices and payments into accounting system.
* Take charge of petty cash, issue receipts and keep records.
* Be responsible for cash sales of tide books and charts.
Skills and Qualifications

* You will have good communication skills, excellent attention to detail and a willingness to learn.
* Must be computer literate with excellent English, verbal and written communication skills
* Be proficient in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, SAGE accounts, company payroll, etc.
* You will need to be adaptable and enjoy working within a small team.
* The ideal candidate will be hard working, punctual, reliable and ready to take on a challenge.
* Experience in accounts and finance is essential.
