The Accounting Coordinator is responsible for coordinating and executing the company’s accounting processes in Portugal (and supporting the Iberia perimeter), ensuring fiscal compliance, accurate financial information, and timely reporting to the Group. This role combines technical accounting responsibilities with operational coordination and interaction with internal and external stakeholders.

Main Responsibilities

-General Accounting & Closing Processes:
Perform and coordinate all accounting entries, reconciliations, and related operations. Ensure the completion of monthly and annual closing processes, meeting deadlines and complying with accounting standards.
-Financial Statements Preparation:
Prepare Financial Statements, including Balance Sheet, Income Statement, and Cash Flow Statement, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and reliability.
-Tax Compliance:
Validate, prepare, and ensure submission of all tax declarations (VAT, withholdings, annual returns, etc.), guaranteeing full compliance with applicable legislation.
-Audits (Tax, Internal, and External):
Coordinate and support tax, internal, and external audits, ensuring the provision of all required documentation for the official certification of accounts.
-Group Reporting:
Prepare and submit all balance sheet reportings and any additional financial reports required by the Group.
-Accounting Analysis:
Analyze accounts, results, and variances. Identify discrepancies and propose improvements to accounting processes and internal controls.
-Operational Coordination:
Support and coordinate daily activities of the accounting function, ensuring efficient workflow and providing technical guidance to the team.
-Stakeholder Management:
Collaborate with internal teams (Finance, Tax, Controlling, HR, Operations, etc.) and external stakeholders (auditors, tax authorities, consultants, suppliers).

Education

-Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Management, or a related field.
-Registered with the Portuguese Order of Certified Accountants (OCC) — mandatory.
Experience

-At least 5 years of experience in accounting roles, preferably with coordination responsibilities.
-Previous experience with SAP is highly valued.
Languages

type=”disc”-
-Native Portuguese.
-Intermediate–Advanced English (essential).
-Spanish — nice to have.
Hard Skills

-Strong knowledge of Portuguese general accounting and tax legislation.
-Experience preparing financial statements and reporting packages.
-Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial results.
-Advanced user of MS Office, especially Excel.
-Solid experience working with SAP.
