JOB SUMMARY / JOB MISSION

As a Fixed Assets Accountant / Senior Accountant, you will be responsible for managing the full lifecycle of fixed assets across Romcim entities, ensuring accurate accounting, compliance with international accounting standards, and strong internal controls.

You will play a key role in financial reporting, period-end closings, audit support, and continuous process improvement, contributing to the overall integrity and transparency of our financial operations.

RESPONSIBILITIES

-Record fixed asset acquisitions, transfers, disposals, impairments, and revaluations in SAP.
-Manage capitalization and asset commissioning for projects and assets under construction (AUC).
-Calculate, review, and post monthly depreciation and amortization.
-Reconcile the fixed asset sub-ledger with the general ledger and investigate variances.
-Maintain an accurate and up-to-date fixed asset register.
-Coordinate annual fixed asset inventories and prepare provisions related to asset disposals.
-Support month-end and year-end closing activities related to fixed assets.
-Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual fixed asset reports for internal and external stakeholders.
-Ensure compliance with RO GAAP, IFRS, US GAAP, internal accounting policies, and SOX requirements.
-Prepare documentation and provide support for internal and external audits.
-Collaborate closely with Controlling, Project, and Operations teams to ensure proper asset tracking.
-Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within fixed asset accounting and reporting.
-Perform general ledger accounting activities, including journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations.
-Respond to ad-hoc requests from the Record to Report Lead.
 

COMPETENCY PROFILE

-University degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related fields.
-Minimum 3 years of experience in fixed assets accounting and general ledger activities.
-Strong knowledge of accounting standards (RO GAAP, IFRS, US GAAP).
-Hands-on experience with SAP or other ERP systems.
-Understanding of internal controls and SOX compliance is an advantage.
-Fluency in English and Romanian (written and spoken).
-Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
-Good organizational and time-management skills.
-Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration abilities.
-Proactive, analytical, and solution-oriented mindset.
