About Us:
Provide vital support to residents in need of accommodation and resettlement
At the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea, we put local people and businesses at the heart of everything we do, working in partnership with them to provide quality services that are responsive, effective and efficient. Committed to acting with openness, honesty, compassion and humility, we aim to listen and understand in a way that is respectful, encourages involvement and meets the needs of all our communities.
The Role:
In this brand new part time role, you’ll provide vital support to the Accommodation Solutions team in a busy, fast-paced environment, responding to email and telephone enquiries from residents and accommodation officers. Sending out standard notification letters, assisting with the assessment of suitability when offering accommodation, helping to organise the storage of goods and removals, referring clients to temporary accommodation or outside agencies – these are some of the other tasks you’ll perform, but your work won’t stop here.
We’ll also expect you to assist with the organising of team meetings and the writing of minutes, help to collate data and administer applications, and close accounts when necessary. You’ll be working closely with our clients, some of whom will be in difficult and challenging situations, so you’ll need to be patient, sympathetic and diplomatic as you help them navigate their circumstances. But the team you’ll be joining is extremely friendly and collaborative, so you’ll never be on your own, and advice and support will always be on hand.
Please refer to the
Job Description for more information.
About You:
With knowledge of the housing and accommodation sector, you’ll be a superb communicator and listener, the sort of person who can adapt their approach to circumstances and gain the confidence and trust of our clients. Capable of building positive relationships with all members of the team and with external agencies, you’ll be a natural problem solver with the skills to meet tight deadlines while working with confidential and sensitive information. A confident user of IT, with a particular emphasis on the MS Office suite of software, your strong customer focus means that you’ll always put others first.
You should have GCSE passes in English and Maths or equivalent qualifications, and in addition to possessing the ability to achieve targets, goals and standards, you’ll be open to change, ready to share best practice and committed to working in partnership at all levels. An approachable and accessible colleague, we’ll also expect you to demonstrate an understanding and commitment to our policies in relation to equal opportunities, customer care and service delivery, and be capable of implementing these in the workplace.
Join us, and you can look forward to a package that includes a competitive salary, a high-quality pension scheme and generous annual leave plus bank holidays. And as a key member of our team, you’ll also have plenty of opportunities for development and progression within our organisation. We’re committed to promoting equality and respecting diversity, and welcome applications from all sections of the community.
