Job Description Summary At Avio Aero, a GE Aerospace Business, we’ve been reimagining the power of flight for more than 100 years. We are specialized in the design, production and maintenance of components and systems for both the civil and military aviation.As Accessories & Controls Buyer, within the Avio Aero’s Supply Chain team and directly reporting to the Commodity Manager, you will manage the buying process for a given set of goods. You will apply sourcing policy, interface between supplier and entity with respect to specifications and budgets. In this role, you will have knowledge of best practices and how own area integrates with others, and you will be aware of the competition and the factors that differentiate them in the market.Job DescriptionEssential ResponsibilitiesManage the sourcing process, from evaluation of requestor’s requirements to PO placementUnderstand the Accessories & Controls Commodity needs based on the Commodity Strategy and define SRM (Supplier Relationship Management) matrix in collaboration with Strategic Sourcing team and Casting Technical ExpertSupport the strategy and robustness definition and execution for the specific set of goods within the Accessories & Controls CommodityManage Supplier and build a strong relationship with GE Aerospace Sourcing TeamPerform spent analysis for the given set of goods within Accessories & Controls commodity and with reference to the Operational Plan and Strategy goals (including deflation, costout, days to pay)Apply cost and price analysis techniques, using available expertise from supporting organizationsNegotiate PO and purchase contracts, following applicable company and government regulationsBalance both tactical execution with strategic initiatives necessary to drive cost reduction projectsWork in collaboration with Supplier Quality Teams and Procurement team to meet established goal of OTD, span, delinquency and vendor recoveryIn performing your activities, it will be mandatory for you to maintain the highest level of integrity and ethics in all dealings with supply base and internal customersQualification/RequirementsDegree in Engineering or Economic field from an accredited university or collegeKnowledge of the sourcing field and previous and proven experience in Program Management/Sourcing and/or Manufacturing Engineering/Quality Engineering and/or EngineeringAbility to communicate effectively in oral and written form
Ability to handle several activities simultaneously, manage multiple priorities and resolve appropriatelyProfessional working knowledge of SAP MRP software systemProficient in MS Office (e.g. PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, Word)Highly motivated team memberProactivity, Customer orientation, initiative, autonomy and negotiation skillsFluent in Italian and English language, both written and spokenWork Visa and Italian citizenship, in accordance with local regulation, is requiredEligible to be security-cleared under Italian National Security Framework – “Nulla Osta Segretezza” (art. 9, comma 4 Legge 3 agosto 2007, n. 124)Desired CharacteristicsKnowledge of current market conditions and sources of supplyKnowledge of Accessories & Controls productsPrevious experience in sourcing organizationPositive working attitude and proven understanding of how to be an effective service provider within an organizationLead initiatives of moderate scope and impactProven analytical and problem solving skills, with sound judgment and a diplomatic attitudeWhat we offerSmart working and work life-balanceAvio Aero, when possible, promotes remote work and encourages a good, healthy and satisfying work-life balance.
