The Department of Chemistry is seeking applications for an academic candidate (AC-TAP). The position includes scientific, administrative as well as teaching duties at the Department of Chemistry within inorganic materials chemistry.
The intended start date for this appointment is March 1, 2025, or as soon as possible after.Job description The candidate is expected to contribute to:

  • Installation, maintenance, user training and management of research equipment related to X-ray imaging e.g., in connection with the AXIA X-ray imaging infrastructure, axia.au.dk.
  • Support of X-ray imaging activities at the Department of Chemistry, with special focus on biological and bioinspired materials.
  • Support of users in characterization of materials using X-ray imaging
  • Participate in support of teaching of relevant laboratory courses in chemistry.
  • Various duties related to the Department of Chemistry.

The candidate will be a part of the Materials Chemistry column and provide support to research activities in X-ray imaging and related areas. Your daily leader will be Professor Henrik Birkedal.Your profile Candidates are required to have an in-depth knowledge of X-ray imaging and an affinity for advanced instrumentation, with the capability to handle 3D imaging data being favorable. Furthermore, experience in operating 3D X-ray microscopy instrumentation, conducting X-ray imaging at synchrotron light sources or conducting neutron imaging experiments are likewise advantages.
The candidate is expected to have a PhD degree in chemistry, nanoscience, physics, materials science or similar.We offer a job opportunity in an ambitious and inspiring research and education environment with an informal atmosphere.
