The position is part of the working group “General Educational Science” of the Institute of Educational Science.
Your tasks:
- Independent research in the area of Childhood Studies, Youth Studies, Socialization or Education Research
- Engagement in academic self-administration and research colloquia/workshops in the Institute is to be expected.
- Research-related cooperations with colleagues at the Institute, especially in the field of Childhood and/or Youth, are appreciated.
- The position has a teaching load of 8 semester hours per week in the degree program of the Institute of Educational Science and Research (BA / MA) focusing on quantitative methods training in the working group of “General Educational Science”.
- The employee takes over duties in the management of lectures and seminars of the working group.
- Involvement in the Center for Research on School, Education and Higher Education (ZSBH) at JGU is desired.

Skills/Qualifications
Your Profile:
In addition to the basic legal requirements, applicants must comply with the hiring requirements stipulated in § 57 of the Rhineland-Palatinate Higher Education Act (Hochschulgesetz Rheinland-Pfalz).
- An above-average scientific university degree in education, educational or social sciences
- After a successful completion of university studies, a full-time professional work of at least two years and six months
- A compatible and qualified empirical doctorate, ideally in educational science, corresponding to the job profile
- Teaching experiences in quantitative methods
- Applicants are expected to submit independent, especially empirical-quantitative research contributions (e.g., on childhood, youth, socialization or education research) that are relevant to educational science and/or the field of studies “Pedagogy of Childhood and Youth”
- We expect applicants to have a critically reflective, theory-based approach to empirical social research as well as an affinity for qualitative-reconstructive and historical work, which characterize the methodological profile of the research group
- High level of spoken and written German (C1 or higher), good language skills in English (B1 or higher)
