We are a school where staff can and do make a real difference in the lives of young people.We are currently looking to recruit a full time Academic Mentor (PP Focus) on a permanent contract to start as soon as possible.Reporting directly to our Vice Principal for Academic Progress, the role will identify and target students for intervention, including reading and writing intervention for Year 7 students. You will establish positive relationships with these pupils, and teach effective learning and revision strategies, including the use of learning resources. By supporting the learning, resilience and emotional well-being of these targeted pupils, it will encourage them to engage better with the mainstream curriculum and become successful independent learners.Based at The Cedars Academy in Birstall, Leicestershire and part of the Lionheart Educational Trust.
