A-Level Criminology Tutor Needed – Inspire Students and Support Their Success Through Individualised Tuition

Tradewind Recruitment is currently recruiting for experienced and enthusiastic A-Level Criminology Tutors to deliver tuition on behalf of local authorities across Northamptonshire and the surrounding areas.

This rewarding opportunity is ideal for qualified teachers, experienced tutors, lecturers, or professionals with experience teaching Criminology who are passionate about helping young people overcome barriers to education. Many of the students you’ll support are unable to attend mainstream school due to medical needs, SEND, anxiety, or other circumstances, meaning your expertise can make a significant impact on both their academic progress and confidence.

Tuition is typically delivered on a one-to-one basis or in small groups , with sessions taking place in students’ homes, schools, community venues, or libraries, depending on the individual requirements of each learner.

The Role
As an A-Level Criminology Tutor, you will:
Deliver engaging and personalised Criminology tuition aligned to the Level 3 curriculum. Support students in developing their understanding of topics such as crime, criminal behaviour, the criminal justice system, crime scene analysis, and theories of criminality. Adapt lessons to suit each student’s learning style, ability, and educational needs. Build positive relationships that encourage confidence, resilience, and academic achievement. Monitor progress and provide regular feedback following tuition sessions. Prepare students for assessments, coursework, controlled assessments, and examinations where applicable. Liaise with Tradewind Recruitment and local authority professionals to ensure the best possible outcomes for each learner.

We Are Looking For:

Experience teaching or tutoring A-Level or Level 3 Criminology . Qualified Teacher Status (QTS/QTLS) is desirable but not essential for candidates with relevant tutoring or teaching experience. Excellent knowledge of the Criminology curriculum and assessment requirements. Strong communication and relationship-building skills. A patient, adaptable, and student-centred approach. An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one through Tradewind Recruitment. The Right to Work in the UK.
