Offer DescriptionThe grants for predoctoral contracts for the training of doctors have as their main objective to increase the quantity and quality of new doctors, through the realization of their doctoral theses in the framework of the best research projects of research groups with scientific and academic solvency of universities, public research bodies and other research centers.UPC has been granted with 31 predoctoral positions. • Be enrolled full-time or admitted to a doctorate program at the UPC for the 2024-2025 academic year at the time of submitting the application. Those people who, at the time of submitting the application, are not enrolled or admitted to a doctoral program, but who are available to do so on the date of formalization of the contract, can also apply for this aid.
• Not being in possession of a doctorate.
• Not having enjoyed any other aid of a similar nature lasting more than 12 months when the deadline for submitting applications ends.
• Have a thesis director who is part of the research team of the funded project to which they belong.

At the time of formalizing the contract, the awarded persons must be enrolled in a doctoral program. • First year of contract: remuneration equivalent to 60% of the salary set for Group I of labor personnel from the salary table included in the Single Collective Agreement for labor personnel of the General Administration of the State.

Second, third and fourth year of contract: remuneration equivalent to 75% of the salary set for Group I of labor personnel from the salary table included in the Single Collective Agreement for labor personnel of the General Administration of the State.

Eligibility criteria1. Academic and/or scientific and technical career of the candidate:1.1 Scientific and technical contributions

• The academic record and other curricular merits of the candidate are evaluated, as well as the suitability of the applicant for the tasks to be carried out, based on their training and professional experience.

1.2 Mobility and internationalization

• The relevance and impact on the research career of the candidate’s stays in national and international centers and/or in the industrial sector are assessed, taking into account the prestige of the entity receiving the stay and of the activity that has been developed in it.

2. Suitability of the applicant to the research activities to be carried outThe suitability of the candidate for the programme, project or research activities to be carried out is assessed, based on their previous training and experience. The added value that the completion of the project will represent for your research career will be taken into account, as well as the value provided to the center and the host team.Additional commentsProject areas:
