Project Overview:
Bechtel is seeking to work with a major Indian corporation to provide Project Management Consultant (PMC) Services and Engineering Procurement and Construction Management (EPCM) Services for offsites and utilities (OSBL) for a multi-billion-dollar upgrade / expansion of their existing petrochemical facilities in India. The PMC Services will be led out of India with personnel deployed in Mumbai region, the project sites in India, as well as several key contractor locations across India. The EPCM Services for OSBL will be led out of Bechtel’s India offices.

You will bring your experience and expertise to the PMC role while working within the customer’s organization as part of an integrated team. Assignment conditions

If you are successful Bechtel will organise your relocation and logistics (Indian visas, travel, and provision of accommodation in Mumbai)

-Our single status rotational schedule is an option for you. This means that you would mobilise and spend 10 weeks working in country and then you would go home to UK for 2 weeks and so on for the project duration.

Position Summary:

In this role, you will :-

-Oversee, advise and monitor Contractors’ Civil/Structural/Architectural (CSA) construction material planning and requisitioning progress.
-Report to Core PMC team and Project Engineering Management.
-Perform work that may include complex features such as resolving conflicting specification requirements for materials, reviewing contractor alternate material proposals and approving/rejecting same based on material performance.
-Plan, coordinate, or monitor the preparation of material specifications, bid evaluations and award recommendations.
-Use spreadsheets, databases etc. to combine and track material requirements from multiple contractors and determine most appropriate means of purchasing and tracking material purchasing and material delivery.
-Oversee and monitor the preparation of material requisitions for CSA discipline.
-Oversee and monitor the preparation of letters to vendors and clients concerning material specification, quantities, schedule for order and delivery. Review vendor material data sheets.
-Advise, track, control material usage and wastage (offcut reusage) where applicable.
-Reviews bid analyses and makes recommendation.
-Supports the creation of a work environment that fosters openness, trust, communication, teamwork, empowerment, innovation, and satisfaction.

Major Responsibilities:

Grade 26

-Plans, schedules, conducts, or coordinates detailed phases of the civil/structural engineering work for a global business unit, a project or staff group to include the preparation of original designs layouts, details, drawings and specifications for structures, building, roadways, railroads, etc.
-Designs, develops, modifies, and evaluates Civil/Structural components and processes utilizing relevant Engineering Department Procedures 
-Designs structures using advanced knowledge of structural analysis, including statics, dynamics, and materials engineering
-Determines the appropriate use of various structural elements such as steel, wood, masonry, and concrete to ensure appropriate material is used based on load or stress requirements
-Originates and checks complex structural engineering deliverables, such as steel and concrete calculations, specifications, and material requisitions
-Analyzes problems with conflicting design requirements, sketches ideas and possible solutions
-Analyzes and reports on the suitability of unconventional materials, techniques and/or difficult coordination requirements
-Plans, coordinates, or prepares equipment, work and material specifications, bid evaluations and award recommendations
-Prepares procurement and subcontract requisition documents and performs associated technical bid evaluations with award recommendations
Grade 27

-Leads the design, development, modification, and evaluation of Civil/Structural components and processes utilizing relevant Engineering Department Procedures 
-Reviews and approves key design documents, supplier drawings and data, material specifications, drawings, change orders, and bid summaries for the project to which assigned
-Prepares or oversees the preparation of discipline estimates and work plan in accordance with project scope, schedule and budget, and supports implementation and assists with performance reporting
-Interprets new or special regulations, codes, standards, criteria, and performance data
-Leads constructability reviews

Education and Experience Requirements:
Essential

-Experience of Civil/Architectural/Structural materials and ordering/storage/usage of the materials.
-Knowledge of Bechtel or other Engineering Contractor’s work processes, procedures and administrative practices and has experience of applying these.
-Understanding of engineering planning and control methods including computerised methods.
-Experience with tools necessary to manage, order and track material deliveries (excel, access).
-Understanding of the roles played by other departments on projects including basic construction practices and the economics involved.
-Understanding of industry or regulatory codes and standards and design criteria pertinent to the particular engineering discipline.
-Skill in oral and written communication.

Desirable

-A professional membership or license in an appropriate engineering discipline from a recognised licensing board
-Experience of Bechtel in-house requisition software.
-Sufficient number of specialised courses in relevant general engineering or appropriate engineering disciplines to meet job requirements.
Required for Grade 26 position

-Requires a bachelor’s degree (or international equivalent) and 8-10  years of relevant experience or 12-14 years of relevant work experience
Required for Grade 27 position

-Requires a bachelor’s degree (or international equivalent) and 10-13  years of relevant experience or 14-17 years of relevant work experience
