Offer DescriptionFor this call we are seeking applications for one post-doctoral position in the area of gravitational wave physics to join and broaden our work in gravitational-wave data analysis, as well as our contributions to the LIGO Scientific Collaboration, Einstein Telescope and LISA Consortium.
The selected candidate will be involved in the research line (LIA-3) ‘Gravitational Wave Experiments and Multimessenger Astronomy’ for the project ‘Advanced Technologies for the Exploration of the Universe and its Components’ within the GRAVITY research group.In particular they will be involved in:
‘Towards the First Detection of Lensed GWs and their Cosmological Applications’ and /or ‘Towards the First Detections of CWs and Long Duration Transients from Spinning Neutron Stars as Tools for Galactic Astrophysics and as Laboratories of Extreme Matter’. Moreover, they will participate in analysing the most recent data from the fourth LIGO-Virgo-KAGRA observation run.
Research in the GRAVITY group at the University of the Balearic Islands (UIB) spans a wide range of topics including gravitational wave data analysis, waveform modelling and numerical relativity.
